Angelina Jolie Watches Gleefully As Warlord Found Guilty

With all the Kony 2012 stuff going on the Internet I thought I'd share with you an instance where the International Courts actually get it right. African warlord Thomas Lubanga was found guilty of sending children into battle today. Lubanga allegedly recruited soldiers as young as nine and made them his bodyguards and even sex slaves during the ethnic fighting in 2002 and 2003.

As the verdict was read Angelina Jolie, who was in court, smiled at the verdict and later added that this was justice for his victims and said "This is their day".

Lubanga, who is the former leader of the Union of Congolese Patriots, is awaiting the sentencing portion of his trial and faces the possibility of life in prison.

This is actually the first time anyone has been convicted since these International Criminal Courts were set up 10 years ago. Hopefully it sends a message to all these militants that are trying to use children as a weapon of war.
