Christian Bale set to play Steve Jobs in biopic of the Apple founder

How many Steve Job’s movies do you need? Apparently at least one more as we received word that Christian Bale is set to take on the role of iconic Apple co-founder, following Leonardo DiCaprio’s withdrawal from the film.

The Batman Begins star is presently in talks with Sony to act in the biopic, entitled ‘Jobs’, which will be directed by Danny Boyle and written by Aaron Sorkin. DiCaprio had at one time already accepted the role but bowed out to take time off from acting, leaving the role free for Bale.

Sorkin has already stated that the film will be just three long scenes, each one occurring backstage prior to a major Apple product launch. He stated “The first one [is] the Mac, the second one [is] NeXT, after he had left Apple. And the third one [is] the iPod. It’s a little like writing about the Beatles. There are so many people out there that know him and revere him.”

It is set to be filmed early next year – no release date has been announced as of yet.
