Well isn’t this interesting? CMT announced that they have ordered their very first ever animated project, Bounty Hunters, along with a fun-loving cop reality show Trinity 911 at its upfront at New York’s Museum of Arts & Design this morning.
Bounty Hunters reunites the popular Blue Collar comedy troupe and will use Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy as voices as well as executive producers of the show. The only other regular announced for the show is Lisa Lampanelli and the animated television show will feature the Blue Collar comedians tracking down wanted fugitives for their rinky-dink bounty hunting business.
CMT has put in order for 13 half-hour episodes but depending on ratings that order may be increased. This is a new era for CMT which is starting to get more and more away from actual music and focus more on the “country lifestyle” with shows like Bayou Billionaires and My Big Redneck Vacation.
Will Bounty Hunters be successful for the network? I think it will because most of the people who watch CMT love the guys from Blue Collar comedy troupe.
