Community creator Dan Harmon took to his tumbler page to outline the facts about his current employment status on Friday. “I got fired” he explained in the post. This explanation confirms rumors that were circling the Internet for over a week that Dan Harmon had been fired from community to community
Replacing Harmon on the show is David Guarascio and Moses Port. Originally shown which produces the show want to demote Harmon to a consulting producer on his critically acclaimed yet low rated television show.
Harmon was known to be very outspoken balked at the new title in said providing the new demote a job is a “standard productive clause” for somebody in his position. He went on to say:
"Guys like me can’t actually just be shot and left in a ditch by Skynet, we’re still allowed to have a title on the things we create and ‘help out,’ like, I guess sharpening pencils and stuff,".
NBC entertainment chief Bob Greenblatt said in a press conference earlier Friday morning that Harmon’s status with the show is unknown at this time. “I expect Dan’s voice to be a part of this show somehow; I’m just not sure if that means him running it day-to-day or consulting on it,"
In that tumbler post however Dan Harmon and insisted that that quote by NBC’s entertainment chief had to be a misquote because: "I think he meant to say he’s sure cookies are yummy, because he’s never called me once in the entire duration of his employment at NBC. He didn’t call me to say he was starting to work there, he didn’t call me to say I was no longer working there, and he definitely didn’t call to ask if I was going to be involved," he wrote. "I’m not saying it’s wrong for him to have bigger fish to fry, I’m just saying, NBC is not a credible source of All News Dan Harmon."
According to Harmon Sony did not even contact him about the shows shakeup either stating that he hadn’t been called since they informed him of the season four pickup by NBC.
Part of the reason for the shakeup may have been Harmon’s leaking of an unflattering voicemail he receives from the series star Chevy Chase. Harmon also doesn’t actually own the series even though he created it his share in the series is only 10%.
We’ve reached out to people at NBC and Sony and they haven’t responded to our request for a comment on this matter. If we hear more we will definitely post it and I’m pretty sure with the alleged instability of Dan Harmon there probably is a lot more hear.
