N.B.A. journeyman point guard and high school basketball legend Sebastian Telfair was arrested this morning in Brooklyn a for possessing four loaded guns and a bulletproof vest.
The 32-year-old former NBA player and another man, Jami Thomas were stopped in a pickup truck around 2:50 AM after police noticed the truck was parked illegally in a median on Atlantic Avenue and then when police approached it the truck drove away with its lights off. After they successfully performed a traffic stop police found a lit marijuana joint in the center console of the truck along with three loaded handguns and a semi-automatic rifle.
Sebastian Telfair who was driving the vehicle faces six charges including criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful wearing of a body vest. If convicted on the weapons charge alone he could face a sentence of up to 15 years in prison. The passenger of the vehicle is facing similar charges as well.
All this is pending but from what we heard it does not look good for the former NBA player.
