Rupert Grint has won the lead role in a new CBS pilot, according to reports.
The Harry Potter star will make his series television debut in superhero comedy Super Clyde, multiple sources have claimed.
Grint’s character Clyde is described as a sweet-natured but shy man who has agoraphobia and anxiety issues. He doesn’t feel like he fits in at the fast food restaurant where he works, and dreams of being a superhero.
Clyde inherits $100,000 per month when his eccentric uncle dies and decides to use his windfall in secret to reward good-natured, deserving people, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Away from the big screen, Grint has previously appeared as himself on Matt Lucas and David Walliams’s airline mockumentary Come Fly With Me, and recently voiced a character in American Dad!
He also made a guest appearance in Ed Sheeran’s video for ‘Lego House’.
His forthcoming movies include The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman and CBGB.
Super Clyde will be written by Greg Garcia (Raising Hope), who is also executive producer of the pilot.
