Jim Parsons, who plays probably the most self-important and annoying nerd in the universe Sheldon on CBS’s popular television show The Big Bang Theory, has found a very low key way to come out of the closet and let the world know that he is gay.
Jim Parsons recently did an interview with the New York Times about his stage work , which Parsons portrays a gay activist in Broadway show The Normal Heart.
During the interview about Parsons portrayal of author Patrick Healy he went on to reveal something that’s been speculated about for a very long time ."The Normal Heart resonated with him on a few levels: Mr. Parsons is gay and in a 10-year relationship, and working with an ensemble again onstage was like nourishment,"
Back in 2010 The National Enquirer outed the TV star when they covered news of Parsons alleged engagement to partner Todd Spiewak. When various members of the media attempted to confirm that Parsons was gay back in 2010 Parsons refused to respond. This interview with the New York Times was actually Parsons’ first public acknowledgement of his sexuality.
Some fans are upset and claim that they’re willing to stop watching the show because they don’t wanna watch a gay man on television. This is pretty ridiculous in my opinion because they’ve been watching a gay man for many years now and up until now they love him. I really don’t see what the big deal is about Jim Parsons sexuality as long as he keeps his sex life in bedroom I have no problem with it whatsoever in fact I admire the courage he had in coming off the closet publicly because quite frankly the sexuality is no one’s business but his own.
