He ruled the courtroom on his TV series Judge Joe Brown but now he gets to see what it’s like on the other side of the law after being sentenced to five days in jail for contempt of court.
The charges are from a courtroom incident back in March 2014, when Brown (who actually is a real judge) was watching juvenile court proceedings and a woman who recognized him asked him to help inner child support case.
Brown claims that he was nauseated just by looking at her case and approached the judge to discuss it.
“When I insisted that the woman’s charges be dismissed,” Brown began, “He started talking about, I’m ‘not an attorney’ so-and-so.” It ultimately turned into a heated verbal altercation that led to Brown getting arrested and held in contempt of court.
Brown submitted himself to begin serving his sentence on Thursday.
This is just a really ironic twist that nobody really could’ve seen coming. Best of luck in jail Joe.
