Katy Perry Gets Guest Star Role Thanks To A Friend

Katy Perry will be guest starring on Raising Hope and all it took for her to get the role was a telephone call from one of her friends Shannon Woodward who happens to be one of the show's stars asking her if she wanted to try something fun and be on the show.

Katy will be playing a prison guard who claims to be a friend from Sabrina's (Woodward) past. In episode, Sabrina gets arrested for participating in a protest and sent to jail for two weeks.

"Shannon Woodward is one of my best friends," Perry tells us. "A couple weeks ago, I was home, just toasting up a frozen chicken fillet when she called me up and asked if I wanted to do something 'fun' for a change and try out a guest role on her TV show. I thought, 'Sure, I have nothing else to do, and I like chillin' with my best friend.' [Showrunner] Greg [Garcia] was nice, but I hope he's not secretly sabotaging my potential future career by typecasting me in the role of just a looker, so that I would never be able to play anything more challenging."

Best of luck Katy and hopefully you are able to excel in acting like you have the music. No word yet on when the show will air.
