Megyn Kelly leaving Fox News for NBC

Today we learned that Megyn Kelly is jumping ship from Fox News over to a new gig at NBC.

According to the press release from NBC, Kelly will become the anchor of a brand-new one-hour long daytime Monday through Friday show that will be developed with her and other NBC news colleagues.

Kelly is also going to be taking over Sunday evening news magazine as well as covering major news and political events. The pay she is getting for her new role at NBC is undisclosed but according to sources Fox News actually offered her a lot more money to stay.

President-elect Donald Trump actually helped turn Kelly into a star by publicly criticizing her performance of an August Republican presidential debate. Later she published a memoir saying she had been poisoned prior to the debate but backed away from those comments when publicity for them became negative.

Kelly’s new show will in all likelihood cover many topics and will blend interviews and news reports with panel discussions.

There is no word yet on when the new show will start.
