Merry Christmas The NBA Lockout is over

They’ve been bickering for nearly 2 years but now it seems the NBA players and owners are back on the same side with the NBA reportedly returning Christmas Day. Owners and players reached a tentative agreement this morning to end December 25 with a tripleheader bearing on both ABC and ESPN assuming the handshake deal is approved in a formal vote.

Unless this change in the schedule that tripleheader will be the Boston Celtics at the New York Knicks, followed by the Miami Heat versus the NBA champion Dallas Mavericks and concluding with the Chicago Bulls visiting Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.

No specifics have been released about the bill, with both sides still working on legal issues that must be overcome before players can return to court. The NBA plans a 66 game season and are planning on opening training camps and free agency on December 9th.

I don’t know about you, but I’m a big basketball fan and I’m happy they reached a deal. However, I’m not sure if I will be watching any games or buying any NBA merchandise anytime soon. The whole billionaires versus millionaires really put me off of the game because I just couldn’t believe how greedy some people could be. During the lockout I did follow various NBA players on twitter and that just about killed any interest I had in watching these guys play basketball. I probably will be back but it could take a while before I watch my first NBA game.  I hope NBA teams do something to help those everyday people who lost a lot of income because of their greed if that happens I may be back watching January 1st.
