Mistrial declared in Bill Cosby case

In somewhat shocking news after deliberating for several days, the jury for the Bill Cosby criminal sexual assault trial was unable to reach a decision so the judge had no choice but to declare a mistrial.

Dozens of women thus far have come forward and accused Cosby of sexual assault yet in most cases the statute of limitations has expired. As many women that have come forward makes you think they’re probably is a good dose of truth to the claims against the former popular television dad.

Prosecutors have already announced that they will be retrying the case due to public outcry against the comedian.

Cosby’s wife Camille Cosby read a statement criticizing the media, prosecutors and even the judge who actually seem to be on Cosby side. Her statement reads:

How do I describe the District Attorney? Heinously and exploitively ambitious. How do I describe the judge? Overtly and arrogantly collaborating with the District Attorney. How do I describe the counsels for the accusers? Totally unethical. How do I describe many, but not all, general media? Blatantly vicious entities that continually disseminated intentional omissions of truths for the primary purpose of greedily selling sensationalism at the expense of a human life.”

Gloria Allred, who represents many of the women who are making the accusations against Bill Cosby said she hopes in the next trial the court will allow some of the women she represents to take the stand and testify to show that Cosby has a history of prior bad acts. If the court allows other Cosby accusers to testify it probably will make a significant difference in the retrial.

While early on in my life I had a lot of respect and enjoyed Bill Cosby’s work these allegations have changed my view of the man. I now find just seeing him in the news to be somewhat disgusting because personally, in my opinion, he seems pretty darn guilty.
