Fugitive mixed-martial-arts fighter War Machine, who’s been on the run for allegedly brutally beating ex-girlfriend Christy Mack last Friday, has at long last been arrested by police. The fighter, whose birth name is Jonathan Koppenhaver, was taken into custody without incident at the Extended Stay America hotel in Simi Valley, California at about 2:30 p.m., a spokeswoman for the Marshal’s Service said. He was reportedly in possession of "a small amount of cash and a pizza." Police also stated that they visited War Machine’s home in San Diego and confiscated his exotic pet snakes.
He’s being held without bond on a fugitive from justice federal charge in the Ventura County Jail, according to officials.
Koppenhaver said he was innocent on Twitter: "The cops will never give me fair play, never believe me. Still deciding what to do but at the end of the day it’s all just heart breaking.”
On Tuesday, authorities issued a warrant for Koppenhaver’s arrest, charging him with several counts of battery, assault with a deadly weapon and other crimes.
Hopefully, justice will be served and Christy Mack makes a full recovery.
Um. who want’s to go go see a Power Ranger movie on the big screen? That’s the question that’s been popping up across social media after Lionsgate announced that it will be releasing a reboot of the ’90s-spawned action franchise: Power Rangers, July 22, 2016.
The film which is ditching the “Mighty Morphin” tag, follows a group of ordinary high school kids who find themselves infused with extraterrestrial powers and must harness those powers as a team to save the world. Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are writing the script from a previous story they penned with executive producer Roberto Orci. The film will premier the same weekend as Warner Brothers ’King Arthur, and it will come less than two months after the next installment of a different retro children property, Paramount’s Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles 2.
I wonder what will be the next property to hit the big screen to fill our 90’s nostalgia appetite, perhaps The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air movie? Who cares? Can Hollywood please just give us something that’s good and original. Thanks.
Well, isn’t this interesting Sleepy Hollow fans. It turns out that Abbie and Jenny’s mom, Lori Mills isn’t dead after all! Apparently Abbie (Nicole Beharie) and Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) were both taken from Lori as children because of Lori’s mental health condition, and subsequently wound up in foster care. The girls thought their mother was crazy and possibly dangerous, and were also led to believe that she had taken her own life 16 years ago. However, new information will help the sisters learn the truth about mommy dearest.
Former Mentalist actress Aunjanue Ellis has been cast to play Lori Mills and it’s definitely going to be a BIG plot twist. You’re going to have to see this to believe it! Ellis is probably best known for playing Madeline Hightower on The Mentalist, Ellis is also set to star in the upcoming BET miniseries Book of Negroes.
Sleepy Hollow returns for Season 2 on Monday, Sept. 22 at 9/8c on Fox. Are you excited to meet Abbie’s mom?
It’s been a very difficult week covering the entertainment world and it seems it’s only getting worse. We have some more sad news tonight as we’ve learned that actress Lauren Bacall, the sultry model-turned-actress who starred with husband Humphrey Bogart in classic movies such as “Key Largo” and “To Have and Have Not,” has died at age 89 after suffering a “massive stroke” Tuesday morning while at home.
In 1945, Bacall wed her one-time co-star Humphry Bogart, and the two remained married until the actor’s passing in 1957. Four years later, Bacall tied the knot with Jason Robards, but their marriage fell apart in 1969. Bacall is survived by her three children. Lauren Bacall was born Betty Joan Perske on September 16, 1924, in New York City to Natalie Weinstein-Bacal, a Romanian Jewish immigrant, and William Perske, who was born in New Jersey.
RIP Lauren Bacall. We hope you’re passing is the last we have to report about the end of life’s journey for any more Hollywood legends.
