Hellboy is coming to the world of Harry Potter our lease the actor who plays him. Ron Perlman has joined the cast of the Harry Potter spinoff movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Perlman reportedly will play a goblin, which is interesting because goblins are usually portrayed as small, skinny creatures in the world of Harry Potter and neither of those words describe Ron Perlman.
Perlman is probably best known for starring in the film adaptation of Hellboy and the sequel Hellboy II: The Golden Army. He has also appeared in films like Pacific Rim and Blade II. Perlman in addition, has appeared in popular television shows like Sons of Anarchy and Beauty and the Beast and did voice work for animated series like Teen Titans, Adventure Time, and Batman: The Animated Series. Recently, Perlman has made the news as he’s campaigned for a third Hellboy movie, which would complete a planned trilogy of Hellboy movies.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is an indirect prequel to the Harry Potter book and movie series, set in the United States during the early twentieth century. The movie stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, a magical zoologist visiting New York City for research on a new textbook about magical creatures. Perlman joins a cast that includes Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Colin Farrell, and Jon Voight. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is scheduled to release November 16, 2016, with 2 additional unnamed sequels still planned.
