NBC’s Smash isn’t holding anything back when it comes to pursuing guest stars for its inaugural television season which begins February 6th 2012. Word is the show has snagged Nick Jonas and Tony winner Bernadette Peters to guest star and sing on the show.
Nick Jonas is said to play Lyle West, a former child television sitcom star written by Tom (Christian Borle) and directed by Derek (Jack Davenport). Peters will be appearing as Leigh Conroy, Ivy’s (Megan Hilty) Tony award-winning mother who is now vicariously living life through her daughter.
Smash follows the making of a Broadway musical based on the life of film icon Marilyn Monroe. Basically it’s a grown-up version of Glee but with people who have actual acting experience. Debra Messing, Katharine McPhee, Anjelica Huston, Brian D’Arcy James, Jaime Cepero and Raza Jaffrey round out the ensemble cast. The show kicks off the day after the Super Bowl airing after The Voice on NBC Monday nights.
