Tony Danza gets Netflix series

Tony Danza to start in Netflix original series The Good Cop.

It seems like everybody is getting a show online these days. Today Netflix announced Tony Danza will be starring in their upcoming original series “The Good Cop”

Reportedly, Danza will be playing Tony, Sr. a disgraced former NYPD police officer who never followed the rules and lives with his son an honest NYPD detective. The show is centered around the relationship between Danza’s character and his son as the one-time crooked cop decides to try to help his son become a better police officer.

Netflix has ordered ten one-hour episodes from the man who created “Monk” Andy Breckman and each episode will be will be one hour long.

If you don’t remember him Tony Danza was a big star in the 1980s. He started shows like Taxi and Who’s the Boss.

“We’re excited to bring viewers the return of Tony Danza, one of television’s most beloved icons,” said Cindy Holland, vice president of original content for Netflix. “‘The Good Cop’ is a funny, charming procedural series that we think our members will love.”

Based on the description of the show and everything released so far “The Good Cop” seems like a one season Netflix show for me but we shall see.
